A Night with Leah Amico

The Wheeling University women's soccer team joined with community participants to share a memorable night hearing Leah Amico's journey in softball and faith.

Leah Amico is best known as one of the most accomplished softball players in American sports history. She won three Olympic gold medals with Team USA softball, competing on teams that helped shape the sport’s place on the world stage.

Leah’s voice offered a reminder that greatness is not built only in highlight moments. It grows through small choices:
Showing up prepared
Encouraging a teammate after an error
Accepting coaching with humility
Competing hard without losing character
Trusting that purpose can be bigger than performance
Faith showed up in practical ways:
Choosing patience when a teammate struggles
Speaking life instead of criticism
Playing with gratitude instead of entitlement
Leading through service, not status
Finding peace beyond the scoreboard
